Who We Are: Charles Casali Carney

A Legacy of Automotive Excellence

My name is Charles Casali Carney, and I am excited to share my journey and experiences in the automotive industry. With a rich family heritage in the field and decades of hands-on expertise, I am committed to driving innovation and delivering value in every facet of automotive operations.

Family Legacy in the Automotive Industry

My roots in the industry run deep. My father began his distinguished career at the GM plant in Linden, NJ, following his service in the Korean War. He later worked at GM in Montreal before rising to the role of Fixed Operations Director and Master Mechanic for one of GM’s first multi-franchise dealer groups in New Jersey. His career spanned from the 1960s until his retirement at the age of 82, leaving a lasting legacy of dedication and excellence.

My Career Path

Early Career in Sales
Following in my father’s footsteps, I launched my career in 1983, selling OEM hard parts and accessories to new car dealerships throughout the Northeast. I played a key role in developing accessory packages for Sales and Finance & Insurance (F&I) departments, as well as hard parts packages for parts and service departments.

Transition to National Sales Leadership
After five years in the field, I advanced to a National Sales-Division Manager role in the Petroleum and Car Care Industry. In this position, I was responsible for developing nationally recognized fluid maintenance programs, service menus, warranty programs, and cutting-edge customer retention strategies. Additionally, I spearheaded the creation of roadside assistance programs, a new car dealer safety compliance program for service departments, and reconditioning processes for detail departments and auto auctions across North America.

Consultancy and Program Development
The reconditioning process I helped design was later adopted by major automotive brands, including GM, Chrysler, Subaru, and others. This success led to my role as an independent certified consultant for the Toyota-Ford reconditioning segment of their certified pre-owned programs, including Ford’s Blue Oval and Red Carpet initiatives. I had the privilege of collaborating with Ford executives such as Tom Cunningham and Daly Pyne, helping new car dealers enhance the value of their used vehicle inventories.
